Work has started on Witton Lane UID, Aston, Birmingham for Severn Trent Water. The £1.6m scheme is being constructed next to the Aston Villa football ground and raised significant concerns with the football club and police about road closures and traffic disruption during the football season. The project involves constructing a 17m deep x 10.5m dia shaft tank, an 8m x 3.5m CSO chamber, a section of 1500mm dia pipejack, open cut sewers uo to 1050mm dia, 98m of 1500wide x 800mm deep x 2m long box culverts under extremely congested utilities. Note: despite a delayed start due to extended approvals we worked several 7 day weeks and extended hours to ensure the sections of work in highway which were at risk of causing traffic congestion were completed prior to the first match of the season.
