Forkers are proud to announce that we are now a member of Women into Construction – an independent not-for-profit organisation that promotes gender equality in construction. 11% of our workforce is female and with 2 female board members we are delighted to be working with Women into Construction.

The construction industry in the UK employs approx. 2.4 million people, but only 13% of these are female. More surprisingly, only 1% of those employed in manual roles are women. We are working to change this gender imbalance in both our business and in the industry as a whole, and are actively looking to recruit more women into our company. We are also currently working with one of our major clients and their supply chain along with the education sector and local authorities to address the issues faced by women within this industry to encourage more women to consider a career in construction.
