We have recently been awarded a ‘design and construct’ contract for civil and ancillary works at Tallentire Wind Farm nr Cockermouth, Cumbria for Renewable Energy Systems (RES). Construction work for the 6 nr 2MW wind turbine facility includes the construction of 7.5km of stone site roads and 6 turbine bases with associated crane hardstandings . It is conservatively estimated that the annual energy production of the wind farm will be sufficient to meet the average annual electricity demand of approximately 6,700 homes, approximately 16% of all the homes in Allerdale. Site works will start in early July 2012.
