Forkers is awarded the RoSPA Order of Distinction for health and safety excellence

Civil and ground engineering contractor, Forkers, has been recognised for its health and safety excellence by achieving the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Order of Distinction.

The Order of Distinction is awarded exclusively to organisations that have achieved a minimum of 15 consecutive Gold Awards, placing Forkers among a select group of companies that have sustained the very highest standards of health and safety year after year.

The prestigious RoSPA Health and Safety Awards have been the benchmark for workplace safety excellence for over 70 years. Open to organisations across the globe, the awards attract almost 2,000 entries each year.

The assessment required Forkers to provide evidence of robust health and safety management arrangements, including leadership involvement, workforce engagement, competency management, risk control measures, auditing, incident investigation and continual improvement activities. Forkers demonstrated a proactive safety culture and the effectiveness of systems implemented to prevent harm and improve performance across the business.

Chris Cookson, SHEQ manager, said: “This is a significant achievement and reflects the continued commitment, hard work, and dedication of everyone across the business in maintaining high standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality performance.

“Thank you to all our employees, managers, and subcontractors for their ongoing efforts and contribution towards achieving this excellent result.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s Growth Director, said: “RoSPA congratulates Forkers on its Order of Distinction. The high standards Forkers has achieved are the result of hard work and dedication, of which they should be rightfully proud and which RoSPA is delighted to honour.

“2026 is a landmark year for the RoSPA Awards as we reflect on how far workplace safety has come in 70 years. It is because of the commitment of health and safety leaders like Forkers that people today are safer at work than in the past, and sets an inspiring example for the future.”
