The £3.5m Field Road/Coley District Phase 3 Chalk Mine Investigation and Stabilisation Contract which was carried out for Reading Borough Council in 2011/12, with Peter Brett Associates as Geotechnical Engineer, was one of the three finalists in the recent annual British Geotechnical Association ‘Fleming Award’ competition held at the Institution of Civil Engineers on 5th December 2012. The Fleming Competition is held annually to commemorate the life and work of Dr Ken Fleming and to recognise excellence in the practical application of geotechnics in a project or a part of a project. The Project has also been chosen as a finalist in the forthcoming Ground Engineering Awards in the category of UK Project with a Geotechnical Value over £1M.
