The construction industry in the UK employs approx. 2.4 million people, but only 13% of these are female.  More surprisingly, only 1% of those employed in manual roles are women.   We are working to change this gender imbalance in both our business and in the industry as a whole, and are actively looking to recruit more women into our company.  We are also currently working with one of our major clients and their supply chain along with the education sector and local authorities to address the issues faced by women within this industry to encourage more women to consider a career in construction.

Experienced Setting Out Engineers


Required to cover current & future schemes in the following locations: 

Birmingham/Midlands

Buckinghamshire/Oxford/Wiltshire/Bedfordshire


The successful candidate should be qualified and have considerable experience in:


  • Setting out, levelling and surveying the site using GPS, total stations and dumpy levels
  • Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations
  • Overseeing quality control - ensuring that all materials used and work performed are in accordance with the specifications
  • Monitoring health and safety
  • Completing inductions, tool box talks & start of shift briefings
  • Keeping a site diary
  • Resolving any unexpected technical problems
  • Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials
  • Liaising between design engineers and the construction team, to ensure plans and drawings are accurate and achievable


Must also hold the following:


  • Minimum of HNC in Civil Engineering
  • CSCS Gold Card (Supervisor)
  • SSSTS
  • First Aid

Site Engineer


Site Engineer required to cover Ground Engineering sites across the Central Belt of Scotland. The successful candidate will be qualified and ideally have some work experience (not essential) in drilling and grouting, site investigation, soil nailing and mini-piling. Your role will include:-



  • Setting out and surveying for drilling grids and positions using GPS. Experience in the use of total stations and dumpy levels would be a benefit
  • Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations
  • Collating drill and grout record sheets and processing information
  • Overseeing quality control – ensuring that all materials used and work performed are in accordance with the specifications
  • Monitoring health and safety
  • Completing inductions, tool box talks and start of shift briefings
  • Keeping a site diary
  • Resolving any unexpected technical problems
  • Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials
  • Liaising between design engineers and the construction team, to ensure plans and drawings are accurate and achievable                                                                                                                                                                             



Must also hold the following:-


  • Minimum of HNC in Civil Engineering
  • CSCS Gold Card (Equivalent NVQ Level 3 Supervisor)
  • SSSTS
  • First Aid at Work

Graduate Civil or Geotechnical Engineer


Graduate Civil or Geotechnical Engineer required to work with a busy and expanding Ground Engineering Contractor on sites across the Central Belt of Scotland. The successful candidate will be qualified and ideally have some work experience (not essential) in civil engineering, construction or ground engineering. Specific training will be provided and the candidate will receive support and mentoring to enable them to develop into the role. The role will include the following:-

 

• Setting out and surveying for drilling grids and positions using GPS. Experience in the use of total stations and dumpy levels would be a benefit

• Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations

• Collating drill and grout record sheets and processing information

• Overseeing quality control – ensuring that all materials used and work performed are in accordance with the specifications

• Monitoring health and safety

• Completing inductions, tool box talks and start of shift briefings

• Keeping a site diary

• Resolving any unexpected technical problems with support from senior staff

• Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials

• Liaising between design engineers and the construction team, to ensure plans and drawings are accurate and achievable                                                                                                                                                                            

 

Must also hold the following:-

 

• Minimum of HNC in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering

• CSCS card (this can be arranged)

• First Aid at Work (would be a benefit, however can be arranged)

• Full driving licence
