Rail

We carry out a range of activities in the Rail sector both directly for Network Rail, for Area Framework Contractors such as Birse Rail and for Light Rail projects. The company is fully Link-up accredited for a broad range of product groups (View Link-up certs) and holds a Principal Contractors Licence (View Principal Contractors License Certificate).

Schemes carried out include:

• Embankment Stabilisation including; de-vegetation, grouting of rabbit burrows, soil nailing, placement of geotextiles and geogrids, nailed gabions, toe drainage, stone fill to improve toe stability, structural fill for embankment widening and cess shoulder widening.
  
• Remediation of Cuttings including rock scaling, rock anchoring and netting, cess drains, crest drains, culverts and outfalls.
• Infrastructure & Drainage improvements to rail depots involving accesses and hardstandings in concrete and tarmac, re-fuelling areas, foul and storm drainage, interceptors, culverted watercourses, earthworks and environmental mitigation works such as creation of linked pond habitats for translocated freshwater crayfish.
• Pipejacked, auger bored and directionally drilled pipeline line crossings of rail lines.
• Geotechnical Work including; site investigations, rotary open hole drilling & coring, major mine workings and mineshaft stabilization contracts, compaction of grouting under bridge abutments and structures, bridge tying, cintec anchors, rotary cased piles, drilling rigs mounted on rail trailers.
